About Decisions, Decisions- Artist’s Note:
“Decisions, Decisions was created as a collaborative effort of fond memories on Saturdays at Bottle Shop combined with contributions of our community’s most-loved OGBS beverages. We spend a lot of time at Bottle Shop, and one of our best memories is trying to occupy our favourite tiny human while we squeezed in visits with friends, listening to our pal playing live music and munching on spinach dip. We would let said tiny human pick out special cans for aunts and uncles (100% based on their colours and pictures), and proudly present them as gifts, which would then be purchased, brought home, and consumed whether the gift receiver liked the selection. This was a favourite activity (whether or not this is an appropriate activity for a toddler is TBD, but it sure was adorable). While sketching this piece, I realized - ‘holy moly, this is a lot of cans.’ As someone who predominantly drinks sours and stouts, I quickly realized I needed backup to ‘fill’ the cooler (affectionately known as Fridgie.) The bevvies you see pictured here are those that were submitted as ‘favourites’ from our Social Media Polls, and in-person voting at our Holiday Open House, where in-progress pieces were on display. Can you spot your favourite?”
